CATALOGS:  Scott Specialized Catalog utilized for Scott numbers,  Catalog(s) utilized for varieties.  Specimens of Stamped Envelopes and Wrappers of the United States, by J.R Weimer, published by UPSS, 1991 utilized for Specimen Overprint identification.

ORDERING:  Via e-mail, simply copy and paste your selections into an e-mail.  By snail mail please include complete item information.

 

PAYMENT:  Items shipped upon receipt of payment.  Payment in U$ funds:  cash, check, money order, on-line via

 .  Handling charges are $1.00 per order PLUS POSTAGE.  Shipping is charged at actual postage costs.  Insurance, registration, etc. are available at additional cost.  Pennsylvania residents must add 6% sales tax.

NOTES:   There are UPU specimen envelopes, bidders’ sample specimen envelopes, and specimen overprinted envelopes used as Post Office sales samples.  The Scott Catalog lists specimen overprints on US postal stationery for Universal Postal Union use only.  The USPS has also utilized specimen overprinted envelopes as a sales tool for many years generating numerous collectable varieties.  Specimen overprinted envelopes are collected as “mint” entire envelopes.   Certain envelope varieties are known only as specimen overprinted types.  Most specimen envelopes show signs of having been mounted in displays (mount remnants and toning being most common).
